The expense control device can be purchased or rented. It works with the Navisystem system and supports NFC and Valtti card stamping. The device reads tags and transmits data via the mobile network.
Using construction equipment #
The tag is displayed on the left side of the device, after which the device makes a small sound and the yellow light turns on. After this, press IN or OUT. Simply displaying the tag or pressing a key is not enough to log in.

Making a work item-device connection #
Create a new work item or open the settings for an existing work item.
Select from the drop-down menu Connected device the code of the correct construction site device. It is important that the device is connected to the work site, otherwise the device's entries will not be saved anywhere! Finally, press Save.
Indicator lights #
The green light in the middle of the logo is normally on when the charger is plugged into a power outlet. If the light is flashing, this means that the device is not receiving power (charger disconnected or power outage) and is running on backup battery. The device runs on battery power for about four hours and after turning itself off, it will resume operation when power is restored.
When the green light of the traffic light is on, the device is ready to read the tag. The yellow traffic light turns on after reading the tag to indicate that a key press is being pressed (the device waits for about 10 seconds). The device “beeps and grunts” to indicate that the tag has been read or that the key press has been successful. If the device flashes a red light when reading the tag, the reading has failed. In this case, insert the tag into the reader again. When the red light is on, the device is not reading tags (battery empty or device starting up).
Data transfer and mobile network signal strength #
The device sends the data to the server half a minute after stamping. The data transfer takes place in the background and is not visible to the user. If the device cannot connect to the application server via the mobile network, it saves the data and sends it when the connection is restored.
It is possible to determine the field strength of the mobile phone network by displaying the identifier on the device without pressing any keys. After this, the device will announce the level with sounds. The number of “buzzes” on the device indicates the field strength level. The network strength is between 1-5.
Installation of construction site equipment #
The device is mounted on the wall in a vertical position and the charger is plugged into a power outlet. The device is ready to use in a couple of minutes. The device is ready to use when the green light on the device is constantly on.
It is a good idea to follow the following instructions when installing the device:
- Mount the device on the wall in a vertical position at a suitable height (1.0-1.5m), fixing with screws under the side door of the cover.
- Check the field strength (display of the tag without a key, see chapter Data transfer and mobile network signal strength), the target field strength level is 2-5
- In a metal construction site container, install the device on the wall in a vertical position near the window.
- Finally, check the operation of the device
Adding an employee when using an access control device #
This chapter provides instructions on how to add an employee to Navisystem when using an access control device. Otherwise, see chapter Adding an employee.
Employees can be added to Navisystem in the following ways:
If in use NFC tag or employee only uses mobile service:
- Select Workforce-tab
- Click Unew employee button
- Enter the employee's basic information. Only the first name, last name, and username are required. Make sure the employee's phone number and email address (if you choose to enter them) are correct so that messages can be delivered.
- From the NFC tag drop-down menu, select the numeric code corresponding to the NFC tag to be given to the user.
- A tax number must be set for the employee, as it is used to export login information to the Veronumero.fi register.
- Once you have added the user's tax number, you can check that the information can be found on veronumero.fi by clicking the icon after the tax number assigned to the user and selecting Show details.
- Add roles for the employee. Roles define the employee's rights when using the system. In this case, a basic user is usually sufficient. Basic use or Worker-role. See. User roles, if you want more information about roles.
- Finally, press Save.

If in use Trump card:
The employee logs into the site device with their personal Valtti card and the information (name, tax number, VALTTI card) is automatically added to Navisystem. The employee is created in the system and no further action is required.
Adding and connecting a job site to a Vastuu Group job site #
This chapter only applies to customers who use Vastuu Group export.
The work item is added as follows:
- Open Jobs tab
- Click New job
- Give the job a name.
- Fill in the other details
- Finally, the work item is assigned to the correct Vastuu Group site according to the instructions below:
Down Vastuu Group construction site In the section below, you can select the Vastuu Group construction sites that you have registered in the construction site register. Select the correct construction site from the menu so that the information is transferred to the construction site register.
If you have not yet added the site to Vastuu Group's service, you can also create a site here by clicking create new and adding the site information to the fields that open. The site information will automatically be transferred to Vastuu Group's service, so you do not need to add the site separately there.
With additional settings, you can specify various additional information for the job item that will appear in the salary report (e.g. meal allowance or daily allowance).
